This notice explains what personal information I collect when you book or enquire about one of my landscape photography workshops, why I need it, how I look after it and what your rights are. I've tried to keep it short and in plain English.
The workshops are run by Nigel Danson, trading through Capture Landscapes Limited, a company registered in England and Wales.
Capture Landscapes Limited is the "controller" of your personal information. If you have any question about this notice or your data, just email me.
When you book a place Your name, email address and phone number, the workshop you've booked, and a record of your payments (amounts, dates and the Stripe payment reference). Card payments are taken on Stripe's own secure page, so I never see or store your card details.
When you fill in your details form Your mobile number, an emergency contact (name, relationship and phone number), any dietary requirements, allergies or intolerances, your experience level and what you'd like to work on, your camera make, your travel plans, and anything else you choose to tell me (for example medical or mobility information).
When you sign the waiver The name you type, the date and time you signed, the IP address of the device you used, and a copy of the waiver text you agreed to. This is so there's a reliable record of what was agreed.
When you join a waiting list Your name, email address, optional phone number and any notes, plus the workshop you're interested in.
When you use the contact form Your name, email address, the workshop you mention and your message.
When you visit the website The site doesn't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Like any website, the servers that host it process your IP address and basic technical information to deliver pages and keep the site secure.

Health information. Dietary needs, allergies and medical information count as "special category" data under UK law. I only use it for your workshop, only share it where needed (for example with the place we're eating), and you can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing me or clearing the box on your details form. If you do, I may not be able to cater safely for you.
I don't sell your data or use it for marketing. I use a small number of trusted services to run the site, which process data on my behalf:
Some of these companies are based in, or may process data in, the United States. These transfers are covered by the UK–US "data bridge" and/or the UK's approved contract clauses.
I'll also share information where the law requires it, or with emergency services if your safety is at risk. On a workshop I may tell accommodation or restaurants about dietary needs, without sharing more than they need.
The whole site uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections, the database is encrypted where it's stored, the booking admin is password-protected, and each attendee's booking link is a long, random, private address. Card details are handled by Stripe and never touch my site.
The site only uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work. There are no analytics or advertising cookies, so there's no cookie banner.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
Some rights have limits; for example, I have to keep financial records for tax purposes. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. I'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, please tell me first and I'll do my best to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
If I change this notice, I'll update the date at the top of this page.
